but going meta.... arcnode rules dont work very well in warmachine to be honest, for starters, only a few warcasters have enough focus and spells that would actually benefit form an arnode ( any good spell costing 1/3 of the total focus of the warcaster, ad a unkeep or 2, allocating some focus to run etc... and most warcasters run dry, then is the fact most arc node warjack are melle, and when a warjack is engaged he can not channel spells, so you have a melle jack, taxed with the cost of a arcnode, so if you trow him in the front they get engaged, cant channel, then your stuck with a overpriced melle warjack, without a good disengage, I have ended up giving up on arcnodes completely, at least with cygnar, know they can be a good tool in the right situation but there are better uses for the points like 90% of the time...
Cygnar is all about pew pew anyways they got more gun jacks then anyone. For armies like menoth and cryx arcnodes are a very handy tool. Especially with casters like Denehgra, Skarre, P severius and harbinger. But you are right, theres only a handfull of casters that can make good use of arcnodes. it all depends on the caster and the jack in question.
well but the case is bot those armies bypass the troubles I mentioned with arcnode, one of them has arconodes that are dirt cheap, and one even has a ranged weapon, not to mention the hi defense and speed, and a grid that spread the A better, allowing for sacrificial arcnodes, then on menoth, while the arcnode is the same cost as cygnar, it has a automatic disengage in the form of its shield, that push you away when you hit him, ensuring you wont be engaged next turn to be able to make use of the arc node.
well we do agree it depends on the jack and the caster in question, and in my case with cygnar the use of ti is so marginal, I prefer to spend those points elsewhere, like EAlexia
